After gaining her M.Sc. Eng. in Biotechnology at Wroclaw University of Technology in Poland in 2007 Dr Jarzabek joined the European exchange Leonardo Da Vinci program that allowed her to do six months research internship at molecular biology laboratory in INRA (French Institute of Agronomic Research), Clermont-Ferrand, France. In 2008 she started a four year National Biophotonics and Imaging Platform Ireland funded PhD in apoptosis and cancer at RCSI. Dr Jarzabek's PhD research was focused on molecular imaging of glioblastoma (GBM) in in vivo models and novel anti-GBM therapeutic approaches. During her PhD, she spent six months on secondment at University of Bergen in Norway working on in vivo bioluminescence imaging validation of a human biopsy-derived orthotopic mouse model of GBM.

Dr Jarzabek's work at Genentech requires her to perform biomarker discovery aspects of this project and she will receive high end training within an industry setting.
